Keeping your home clean and tidy can feel like an uphill battle at times. There always seems to be some nooks and crannies that you just can't fit your vacuum cleaner or your duster into, and naturally, these are also the crevices that hide the most dirt. But there is something you can do to make cleaning these areas a breeze.
In a video shared on Instagram by professional cleaners at The Clean Group, they shared a handy trick that could help you reach those difficult areas. The hack specifically tackles places where your normal vacuum attachments won't fit, such as slim gaps between furniture or the tracks on bifold doors.
All you need to make the hack work is an empty toilet roll tube.

In the Instagramvideo, the expert attached the toilet roll tube to the end of her vacuum's hose attachment, securing it tightly with an elastic band.
Then, she pinched the end to form a thin point that could fit between the tracks of her folding doors.
She then turned on the vacuum and fit the tube into the gap, which allowed the vacuum to easily pick up the debris that had fallen between the tracks. This is usually impossible to do without the toilet roll tube, as the regular attachments don't allow you to get close enough to the dirt to properly suck it up.
Once you've finally gotten all the dirt out of hard to reach areas, the cleaning expert also suggested wrapping a microfibre cloth over the end of your vacuum in order to clean your skirting boards.
Don't turn the vacuum on for this hack, simply use the hose like a mop. Spray a little cleaner on the cloth, and then wipe the skirting boards without having to bend down.
In the caption, the cleaner admitted the hacks might look "unhinged", but they work and are worth looking a little crazy if you have a clean home at the end of it.
She wrote: "Two lazy girl cleaning hacks that I use every day as a pro cleaner! They look unhinged but they WORK. Save this reel and thank me later."
Commenters on the post were definitely thankful for the expert's advice. Many said the toilet roll trick was "genius" and that they would be trying it out themselves as soon as possible.
One person said: "The toilet roll is genius!"
Another added: "That's amazing. I'm doing both!"
